We are finding ourselves in an ideal scenario currently with a very positive outlook. Flows remain around 1000 cfs, and more rain/cooler temps coming staring tomorrow, July 15. Fishing has been great, as the classic dry fly scene has illustrated why this is the last greatest place to fish in the American West. We haven’t seen huge river traffic days, less than last year even, yet the fish quality remains premium. Many fish around or over the 23″ mark on dry flies hitting the net, daily among our guide team. Most days, I’m personally not even seeing a boat…but that’s just me, as I’m chasing the most solitude a guy can get, which is often around these parts.

Drakes, PMD’s, sallies, Cicada, Golden stones and more are doing their thing and will continue as we get into hopper/terrestrial and smaller mayfly/caddis time frame. Streamer fishing remains superb and will be really good in the coming week, as we expect the monsoon to arrive. Starting July 17, we open back up with guide availability into late next week. Prime time cool down will ensure terrific dry fly and streamer conditions. If you have the itch, it’s not too late, it’s about to get damn good. Stripping the streamer or big bug surface fishing is on its way back after this hot spell. Kokanee salmon and big laker fishing has been good also.
