We are starting off 2026 with 104-105% of normal snowpack here in the Green River basin. Upper Green River basin appears to be in the best shape across Wyo with a 115% snowpack. Good deal, now we need another storm to arrive, pronto before we dip below 100%. Our snow is currently wet, along with our ground. Last fall was wet and the ground got saturated with rain/snowmelt. So, I do believe in we are in pretty good shape at the moment. Winter is young yet and we have two treacherous wintery months ahead. 10 day forecast for Daniel, Wyoming is dry and cold. We have snow on the upper river and dry conditions down below the dam.

Fishing remains consistent in our river, moss is minimal after the accidental bump of 3000cfs back in November. So if you notice debris in the trees like a flood just happened, there’s why. We are getting out when the weather is nice… we did a rowing clinic and river float trip lately with more coming. Weather looks good into next week for anyone who needs some river therapy in a WFC guide boat! As usual, we are doing the this counted winter fly fishing special until April 1, $550 for a full day float trip (1-2 anglers), streamers…nymphing and maybe some dry fly fishing.
Wyoming passed a guide bill in 2025, requiring all fishing guides to register their guide boats. Click here if you need to register your boat. We hope these new regulations will preserve the solitary experience we have here in Wyoming and prevent our water from being further populated by fly by night guide operations.

The 2025/26 waterfowl season is finally over. What a long grind! We had our ups and downs this year with the unseasonably warm temps, but it ended up great.
