We go into February with renewed hope that our winter will sustain, after a long and dry January. The recent storm cycle Brought our basin wide snowpack up to 101%. Both upper and lower Green River basins are at 101%. Prior to this storm, our snowpack was at 78%. It’s fascinating what one storm can do.

We got out on the first day of 2025 open water yesterday and boy was it nice! What a sweet taste of river fishing season. It was somewhere in the 40s ( felt like 75F), snow was melting and fish were eating! WFC Guides Jake, Kurt, Erik and myself (Ryan) got out on a dead calm day and had the place to ourselves. Today, the wind howls at 30-40mph, temps are much cooler, blowing snow and another storm cycle coming Friday, and another on radar for next week, aided with the bitter cold of teens and lows to the negatives. This is just what we needed! I feel like we will come out of February with a great snowpack.

The ice fishing offered endless opportunities with great ice. We’ve been all over the place. We are  looking forward to our Veterans Fishing Trip on February 22. Thank you to all our sponsors! We have enough veterans on the trip and are full! What an incredible experience to be apart of.

Healthy Fish this year!
