Green River Fly Fishing Report

February 4, 2020

Fish are in good shape, as is the snowpack thus far. We have another system coming the day after tomorrow, which should give the mountains an additional bump, after the post super bowl dump we just got.  This snow accumulation now helps ensure great fishing for this summer!

Fishing has been good... streamer and nymph bite is the program.  Still haven't had the right day for dries, yet.... this day could be with you!

****Winter trips for $400 until April 1.  Full day float, flies and beverages included, bring your own lunch****

We are booking winter whitefish trips on the river below Fontenelle Dam again this year.  We will get you to fill your limit of trophy white fish, filet them and send them off with you, ready for the brine and then smoker!  Green River whitefish are excellent fish for the smoker! No, they're not bottom feeders, they eat the same thing as trout!   The Wyoming Game and Fishes trophy whitefish certification is only 16" ....uhhh, yeah we have lots of those!  Hunting for that 2' er....

Give us a call, we can go headhunt with little dries for laid up cutties  and catch a limit of whities in the mean time.   Or just nymph all day and get into a mixed bag of toad whities and some ripping Green River trout.

We have heaters, coffee and all the tackle in the boat for winter fishing trips.

Remember, Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge opens for guide trips on April 1st, 2020. Until then, we are guiding below the dam to the North Boundary of the refuge.  We are beginning to book April trips on the Seedskadee NWR, don't miss out on this years' opening. During April and May on the refuge, Spring blue wing olive mayflies start to hatch, the rainbows are dropping eggs for the cutties and browns to gobble up and the streamer bite begins to pick up.
